Last weekend I raced the elite triple sprint triathlon in Raby Bay in Brisbane. The format was 250m swim/5km bike/1.6km run three times through with ten minutes rest in between rounds. So needless to say the racing was hard and fast and lots of fun…even if I did feel like being sick after the first round! In all three rounds I swam at the front of the pack coming out of the water 3rd in the final round…not bad considering there were 30 girls, ten of whom were top internationals! My leg speed was lacking on the run but I pushed through giving it everything I had.
Even more exciting than this race is that I have a world cup start in Mooloolaba in three weeks time on the 28th of March. I am preparing as best as I can for this race, I feel fit enough now after a few small races to have a good crack at it.
Stay tuned for Mooloolaba results ,
Soph
